A Night at Magnolia

Celebrating a century of hospitality, the Magnolia Hotel St. Louis—originally the Mayfair Hotel designed by Preston J. Bradshaw—marked its 100th anniversary this year in downtown St. Louis. Opened on August 29, 1925, the landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and famed for popularizing the “chocolate on the pillow” tradition linked to Cary Grant. My images follow the centennial festivities and the timeless details that connect today’s Magnolia to a storied past in the heart of the city.
